It makes me cringe.

Every time I look back at the very first interior shoot I did, I just want to hide under the covers and pretend it never happened!

It seemed simple, but there were so many things that I had no idea about.

Like lighting.I don't want to add lights because it will look unnatural.... right?WRONG.

Like composition.I want to capture as much as I can and get variations of things so I have options... right?WRONG.

Like flow.My client gets the space ready, lets me in, and then I just "do my thing"... right?WRONG.

If only I had some sort of manual...

Fast-forward to today.

Lighting is used to supplement natural light, and in a way that makes the photo look completely naturally lit.

Compositions are created, with each photo having a purpose and a reason it was created.

Shoots are collaborative, bringing the client into the process so I make sure the photos are a perfect fit for them.

And now, I walk you through the entire process of a photoshoot.

Inside The Ultimate Guide to Shooting Interiors, you'll find:

MODULE 1: WORKFLOW

We start at the beginning - arriving to a shoot. We'll cover how to present well, what to ask when you arrive, and how to collaborate with your client. You are the maestro, so let's go over how to conduct your session.

MODULE 2: GEAR

Let's dive into gear! What you actually need to get started, what you'll want to consider adding at some point, and the ins and outs of tethering.

MODULE 3: COMPOSING

It's time to make sure you are shooting with intent, so in this module we cover composing. Tips, examples, and a breakdown of a typical shot list.

MODULE 4: STYLING

You're not a designer, but you do have a good idea of what looks good through the lens. We go over styling tips and guidelines so you can make suggestions to your client for subtle, yet powerful, changes to the final photos!

MODULE 5: SETTINGS & TECH TIPS

What good is your gear if you don't know how to use it? We cover ideal settings for different types of compositions, for your tripod, and how to approach any adjustments needed to settings for different situations.

MODULE 6: LIGHTING

Let's break down lighting so that you have a solid foundation of how to incorporate lighting for a natural look. We cover shaping natural light, how flashes and strobes work, flash settings for interiors, and different ways to use flashes or strobes.

MODULE 7: TRICKY SITUATIONS

Some situations call for ingenuity! We'll go over common tricky setups like shower enclosures, glare on art, and mirror reflections.

Let's do this! I'm ready to dive in!
